In addition, 6 GB of RAM may mean that the base iPhone models will receive some of the features from the Pro versions, for example, related to shooting or processing photos and videos. As for the Pro versions themselves, it is possible to increase the RAM from the current 6 to 8 GB.
In terms of RAM speed, Apple is still two steps behind its competitors.
Permanent memory. The information about the appearance of the iPhone 14 version with 2 TB of flash memory is curious. Initially, such a rumor did not seem very plausible. The fact is that it usually takes several years to double the maximum possible memory in an iPhone. For example:
- 256 GB for the iPhone first appeared in 2016, with the release of the iPhone 7;
- The first models with a 512 GB storage capacity appeared in 2018 when the iPhone XS was released;
- 1TB arrived last year with the release of the iPhone 13 Pro.
Thus, the interval between doubling the maximum possible amount of memory is usually 2-3 years. From this, logically, it could follow that this year there will definitely not be a 2 TB version yet.
However, insiders claim otherwise. Allegedly, the company must “accelerate” in terms of terabytes available to the user by the above-mentioned camera with a resolution of 48 megapixels. For the first time, it can record not only 4K video but also 8K video. That is, is four times larger and takes up a monstrous amount of space. It is because of this that Apple wants to add a version with 2 terabytes of internal memory to future iPhones.
